If I could choose my hostess, who would have the mostess?

Ina's house in the Hamptons...

OR would it be Martha in Maine?

Though I would love to be in these homes and see Ina and Martha's collections, 

I would really like to go to one of my favorite's places- Blackberry Farm.

I can not think of a more ideal place to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with my family

than in the rolling hills of this farm. Sitting on picnic benches, fireside, with views all around- it is truly magical and the food and wine are absolutely without comparison!

Steven Gambrel gambles with color and wins...

I pulled these rooms from the January 2010 Elle Decor issue featuring Steven Gambrel's project in the Hamptons. Gambrel uses color in very unexpected ways and the colors themselves are a bit unexpected.

I love the red frames in the hallway gallery. With black and white photos, you really see the images when framed in a bold, but consistent color.

Awesome shower- the wide polished nickel frame adds warmth to the exposed glass and the petite but masculine vanities keep the shower the focus. I also like the floor stone as the base of the vanities.


The patterned floor, the textured subway tile and the inset cabinets blends whimsy prep & professional cookery yet the open shelves bring us back to the setting- Hamptons countryside.

Star Rooms

Celebrities have their pickings of the best houses and best designers around the world. Some of these homes are totally over the top and some are enviably simple and tasteful. Here are some of my favorite, livable rooms.

Chris Mead of English Country Antiques is a great gatherer of both new and old treasures. His shop in Bridgehampton and Southampton, New York is stuffed with wonderful finds. With a staff of 15, new products are consistently filling their shops and they will ship across the country.

This 'dollhouse' armoire functions well as a closet, but the charm is so dreamy. Someone has to place this in a little girls bedroom! Find it now at English Country Antiques.
