I love my book collection. Today, I revisited one of my favorites, "The Way We Live". Often in our industry we are asked to mimic life abroad- to create a French inspired dining room or build Mediterranean architecture. It is one of the most fun aspects of my job and often one of the most fulfilling- to push the limits and try and create something totally new. But sometimes we forget... that tradition and living habits are really quite similar across the globe.
Authors Stafford Cliff and Gilles De Chabaneix say,
"At the heart of every thinking person's house should lie a library or book-room, a repository of the intellectual adventures of the owners."
Well said.

I am on the hunt for two lamps to sit on either side of a built-in bench at an eating nook. These are some of my finds.
My color scheme for a new project is black, navy and gray. We want modern lines with traditional collections, open rooms with cozy seating and luscious, totally yummy drapery and linens.
I love the red frames in the hallway gallery. With black and white photos, you really see the images when framed in a bold, but consistent color.
Awesome shower- the wide polished nickel frame adds warmth to the exposed glass and the petite but masculine vanities keep the shower the focus. I also like the floor stone as the base of the vanities.
The patterned floor, the textured subway tile and the inset cabinets blends whimsy prep & professional cookery yet the open shelves bring us back to the setting- Hamptons countryside.
This kitchen is traditional with marble and white cabinets but the gallery of frames and yellow pop of color adds modern drama. Love it.
